Families are selected based on their need for adequate housing,
their ability to pay back a no interest loan, and their willingness
to partner.
Family Selection Criteria
- You must be a permanent legal resident of the United States
- You must have lived in Clark County for the past 12 months
- You must make a minimum of $19,000 per year
The maximum allowable income for 2002 is as follows:

(2003 maximum allowable incomes will slightly rise)
- You can not have declared bankruptcy within the past 2 years
- You can no have any collections, liens, judgments within
the past 2 years
- Your long-term debt-to-income ratio can be no more than 55%
Additional requirements (if accepted into the program)
- You must complete a minimum of 250 hours of swat equity per
adult living in household
- You must pay closing costs (approximately 1% of appraised value)
- You must pay for (in full) your first years homeowners insurance
