Father's Day Initiative 2014

On June 12, 2014 the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) hosted the fourth annual Father's Day Event.

The Day started with an all-male roster of speakers including HUD Multifamily Supervisor Frank Castro. Frank spoke about his father. He encouraged young people to stay in school.

SNRHA Executive Director John Hill opened the event and shared stories of his father. He reflected on being a father himself.

Other noted speakers included Detrick Sanford with Congressman Horsford Office and Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly.

Each speaker shared what it meant to be a father. They encouraged men in the audience to stay connected or reconnect with their families.

The event was attended by well over 150 people made up of families and single fathers and mothers.
