On Thursday, August 28, 2014, a Faith Forum event was conducted in North Las Vegas, Nevada. It was sponsored by U.S. Senator Harry Reid and was a huge success. Senator Reid spoke on issues facing Nevada. He introduced the Guest Speaker, U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry Black.

Other speakers spoke on Economic Empowerment and Social Justice issues. A notable speaker included Ophelia Basgal, Regional Administrator, Region IX for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

It was about energizing the Faith Community to use Federal agencies to help them. It was a chance to look at the different agencies grants and what they provide in general that would help the Faith Community.

Basic information on grant availabilities for those in the Faith-based community that would be interested in applying was available.

The audience was approximately 200 in attendance. Everyone left the Forum energized and focused on the issues that were presented.
