James Elder and his family received their keys, Nov 13, 2014, to their newly renovated home in Las Vegas, NV. The home is being donated mortgage-free by VAREP.

Las Vegas HUD Office staff started a valuable partnership with Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) over a year ago. The spokes person for VAREP at this event was gracious to address the audience.

He specifically wanted those in attendance to know that when their organization was being formed, it was the previous HUD Field Office Diirector, Mr. Kenneth J. Lobene who kept them focused on their mission. The spokemen for VAREP wanted everyone to know how much Mr. LoBene was appreciated. They looked forward to continue that initial partnership with Brian A. Sagert the current Las Vegas Field Office Director.

Mr. Elder served a tour in Vietnam as a combat medic. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service and 2 Purple Hearts for being wounded in combat during the Vietnam War.

Elder is Pastor for a nonprofit called All American Youth Foundation. He received a Bachelor Science in Physical Education from Cal State University in 1990. Mr. Elder and his wife have three children.
