On December 7th 2014 the HUD Las Vegas field office played elves and brought a little Christmas cheer to The Shade Tree. HUD staff Brian Sagert, Field Office Director, Phyllis Hargrove, Senior Management Analyst, Janie Lopez Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) officer and Marilee Hansen, Community Planning and development (CPD) Representative decorated the women’s emergency shelter and transitional housing facility.

The group put up two Christmas trees with all of the trimming as well as decked the halls and walls (literally) with Christmas glitz. Several of the residents joined the group in decorating the lobby and main hall, including two adorable three and four year olds who didn't want the fun to end.

This was the 5th consecutive year that the Las Vegas office has volunteered to spread the joy of the season and brought smiles to the faces of the women and children living at the Shade Tree.
