Regional Administrator Adolfo Carrión was the keynote luncheon speaker at the Community Development Corporation's (CDC) recent annual luncheon held at the Chateau Briand restaurant in Carle Place, Long Island. CDC of Long Island is a not-for-profit organization that supports Long Islanders pursuing their housing and small business dreams. Since its inception 41 years ago, CDC of Long Island has been a significant force for meeting the needs of people and businesses in order to foster vibrant, equitable and sustainable communities. It has assisted over 93,000 Long Islanders and invested $806 million into communities.

Last fiscal year alone, CDC of Long Island served more than 17,000 Long Islanders while investing over $85 million. It has also provided rental assistance to over 10,000 individuals including 5,000 children in over 4,000 subsidized units. Its homeownership program has assisted over 280 families develop homeownership plans, of which 189 closed on their homes. They also provide foreclosure prevent counseling. To demonstrate its organizational diversity, it has provided over 500 business owners and entrepreneurs with technical assistance, and provided over 800 homes with rehabilitation and energy conservation improvements.
