CPD Director Hom Speaks at AIDS Housing Conference

On Monday, May 7, 2012, New York CPD Director Vincent Hom was the keynote luncheon speaker at the VOCAL-NY's First Annual NYC AIDS Housing Conference. Mr. Hom spoke to a group of about 75 attendees at the luncheon session entitled "Emerging Intersections: HOPWA Reauthorization, the Continuum of Care, and AIDS Housing." Mr. Hom provided updates on the proposed HOPWA budget for 2013 and proposed modernization elements, as well as an outlook on resources for the future given the impending end of Recovery Act programs and other significant program reductions impacting housing development. Clarifications on the implementation of HUD's new homeless definition, and expectations about implementation of the HEARTH Act and HUD's effort to enhance capacity in New York City leading up to the transition were also shared with the participants.
