On Monday, August 27, Field Office Director Jaime Forero and Sam Miller, Regional Homeless Coordinator, and a host of State and local homeless advocates, conducted a homelessness coordination meeting at the Albany Field Office. Participating agencies included: The NYS Office of Temporary Disability (OTDA), NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASIS), NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH), The Supportive Housing Network of New York (SHNNY), The New York State Rural Housing Coalition, The New York State Neighborhood Preservation Corporations (NPC), and CARES1, Albany.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss common interests and activities, as well as improve collaboration to ending homelessness in urban, suburban and rural communities. In addition to an overview of the Albany Field Office and introductions, the group discussed a variety of issues surrounding homelessness services, government programs, future collaboration and grant issues. All agreed to meet on a quarterly basis to continue the new found partnership.
