HUD Buffalo Field Office Director Joan Spilman joined Congresswoman Kathy Hochul, New York State Assemblyman Daniel J. Burling, Perry Mayor Howard C. Wood, Doug Berwanger, Chairman of the Board of Wyoming County, and other elected and government officials to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Champion Place, a 19-unit, senior housing development in Perry, NY, sponsored by Community Action, a local, nonprofit housing advocacy organization.

The development, funded through HUD's 202 Supportive Housing Program, will provide the first new, affordable housing for low-income seniors in this rural area of Western NY. Champion Place was built on the site of a vacant factory and also received funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank and the Village of Perry to demolish the factory and remove asbestos. Also in the picture are Howard R. Wood, Mayor of the Village of Perry and James R. Brick, Town Supervisor.
