The Region II Federal Partners Council collaborated with the Brooklyn Center for Quality Life to provide a free grant writing workshop to Brooklyn non-profit and community leaders. The event was hosted by Pastor Gilford and held at the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. The workshop was conducted by two members of the Region II Interagency Federal Partners Council's Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnership Subcommittee, part of a group of federal agencies that work together to maximize access to federal government services and information in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Joan Gibson, Lead Program Evaluation Specialist at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, provided in-depth guidance on how to write an effective grant as well as important tips that give applicants the best chances to secure funding for their projects. Earleene Sealy, HUD Senior Management Analyst at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) thoroughly explained how to navigate the recently redesigned Grants.gov website. Over 100 attendees took home valuable information that will enhance their opportunities to receive a federal grant.
