The Long Island Continuum of Care group has joined HUD and the VA's National Initiative to End Veteran Homelessness by 2015! Led by the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless, "Team Long Island" (as the above referenced local group is called) includes leaders in the areas of non-profit housing and services, veterans organizations, local government, businesses, the real estate community, public housing administrators, HUD and the Veterans Administration. The group's focus is on finding and implementing innovative solutions to the issues related to homelessness for our region's veterans, creating housing opportunities, and expanding and coordinating services to move veterans from homelessness to housing in an efficient and effective manner. Samuel Miller, Senior Management Analyst and Region II Homeless Coordinator represents HUD as a member of the working group.
