A new HOME rule brought many of HUD's partners to its Regional Office to discuss the impact of the change. The rule change, which includes increased accountability and stricter requirements for eligible projects, presents a number of challenges and opportunities for non-profit Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) and local governments that implement and administer many of the HOME programs. Owing to the importance of the rule change, HUD regional and field offices throughout the country are providing a series of trainings to prepare the CHDOs to better understand and implement the new HOME rule. Over 30 representatives attended the New York Regional Office training session in lower Manhattan on July 22 through 24.
