HUD NY, FHEO Management Liaison Officer Francis Cheng and FPM Senior Management Analyst Henry Comas of the Region 2 HUD Office gave presentations for the Chinese Community Center, hosted by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA). CCBA is a nonprofit organization established in 1883 to serve the needs of the Chinese community.

The purpose of the event was to provide information to senior residents on rental subsidy agreements, eligibility, rent amounts, type of housing, how to apply for affordable senior housing; their rights under the Fair Housing Act, and Limited English Proficiency requirements. Residents also learned about how to contact local stakeholders so they can access information about other HUD programs like RAD, and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.

The event was covered by several local media outlets. The full articles can be found here: http://goo.gl/ckszSR and http://goo.gl/wozX9M. A video can be found here: http://goo.gl/T7Wc46
