Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Yonkers Executive Director Joe Shuldiner hosted HUD Region II Regional Administrator Lynne Patton and HUD New York Public Housing Director Luigi D'Ancona on a tour of the public housing agency's properties, providing information on current activities and future plans. RA Patton was also invited to be the guest speaker at the Hudson Valley Association of Housing Authorities luncheon held for its members.

The HVAHA is an organization comprised of over twenty housing authorities and their executive directors from both sides of the Lower Hudson River Valley that meet periodically to give housing authority staff an opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences and problems, as well as hear from speakers who can address issues of importance to the members.

RA Patton had an opportunity to speak to HVAHA members about HUD priorities that include the RAD Program, Section 3, the Family Self-Sufficiency Program, and Smoke-Free Public Housing. Housing Authority Executive Directors and staff present had an opportunity to highlight successful actions and to openly discuss challenges with the RA as well as with HUD NY Public Housing Director Luigi D'Ancona.
