"How to Apply for Privately-Owned Housing Assistance" Webinar Engages Attendees, Provides Valuable Resources

HUD Region II Senior Management Analyst Earleene Sealy hosted a webinar to help New York and New Jersey residents find HUD-subsidized housing in privately owned buildings. The webinar featured Yovanka Bien-Aime, Program Analyst, HUD Multifamily Housing Northeast Region, who explained how to use the HUD Resource Locator; and HUD Multifamily Housing Northeast Region, Program Analyst, Tanesha Smith, who provided an overview on the Section 811/202 Grant Programs and Grants.gov. HUD Region II FPM Executive Assistant Angelique Urbina monitored attendee questions. HUD Region II Regional Administrator Lynne Patton delivered opening remarks.

The webinar, geared towards low and moderate income renters, seniors, and people with disabilities, was attended by nearly 100 people who were engaged and asked numerous questions. This webinar provided a lifeline during COVID-19, when residents need information and resources to navigate the challenges they might be facing in a pandemic.
