Buffalo Field Office Director Lisa Pugliese and FPM Management Analyst Ashley Graves attended the Buffalo Project Homeless Connect event on Thursday, October 28, 2021. The yearly event is hosted by the Western New York Coalition for the Homeless, in partnership with the Buffalo City Mission and the City of Buffalo.

Project Homeless Connect is a one-stop shop for those experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness to get connected with an array of services, pick up basic necessities, and for providers to learn more from them about their needs, ideas, and opportunities. More than 30 agencies committed to donating their time and services for the event. Organizers reported 300-600 clients attended.

Lisa and Ashley provided useful information on HUD programs, as well as vital information on COVID-19 vaccinations.

Event organizers sent thanks to all providers, stating that clients walked away with the help they needed. Providers saved participants and walk-ins time and energy and offered the much-needed services in one place, at one time. Many clients spoke to the organizer stating how grateful they were for the event.

Lisa Pugliese also attended the Niagara County Veterans Stand Down on Friday, October 29. The Stand Down is a one-day event to provide services and information to veterans in the Western New York area who are homeless, at risk of being homeless, or need resources. Lisa provided attendees information on HUD programs and COVID vaccines.
