HUD Regional Administrator Alicka Ampry Samuel Delivers Keynote Remarks at the Long Island Housing Partnership Annual Meeting

HUD Regional Administrator Alicka Ampry Samuel delivered the keynote address at Long Island Housing Partnership's 34th Annual Meeting, which brought together stakeholders from Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Regional Administrator Ampry-Samuel updated LIHP membership on new HUD initiatives, which included issues that make agency programs and services more accessible and equitable. From expanding access to Federal Housing Administration (FHA) home purchases to equity in appraisals to making housing counseling user-friendly, HUD staff has been working hard at streamlining access and options for low-income families.

LIHP builds affordable homes for low and moderate-income Long Islanders and provides homeownership education. LIHP membership comprises hundreds of people involved in affordable housing, including owners, developers, housing advocacy organizations, community-based and nonprofit groups, business leaders, faith-based leaders, and elected officials.
