Fireworks and Fanfare Accentuate Groundbreaking Ceremony at River Vue Apartments

Mayor of Pittsburgh Luke Ravenstahl (lf) and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato (rg) hit the target in this unique "groundbreaking" ceremony

On June 30, 2011, community leaders, developers and dignitaries gathered in front of the former State Office Building anticipating the unfolding of architectural history. HUD Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Jane Vincent greeted attendees and applauded their efforts in this adaptive re-use of a former office building involving the largest FHA mortgage insurance application ($39,132,200) that the HUD Pittsburgh Office had ever processed and closed.

Ms. Vincent notated that many nearby social and cultural amenities would be further enlivened by residents who could now call the downtown corridor "home." Mayor of Pittsburgh Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato echoed the importance of developing residential opportunities amidst the downtown commercial district merchants, vendors and business owners as well.

River Vue Developer and Millcraft Executive Vice President Lucas Piatt ended the groundbreaking ceremony with a festive "bang" as fireworks and firecrackers punctuated the air and surrounded the sky above River Vue Apartments while framing it against the impressive backdrop of scenic Pittsburgh.
