The Accessibility Homebuyer Assistance Program, funded by the Washington County Board of Commissioners through HUD's HOME program, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at 316 Grace Ave in Canonsburg, PA on Monday June 18, 2012. The fully-accessible home was built for a family who requires wheelchair access for a household member.

Homebuyer assistance was made available through the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington under the guidelines of their Home Buyer Assistance Program for Persons with Disabilities (http://www.racw.net/programs.jsp?pageId=2161392210281184893591591). The family must meet income guidelines and financial eligibility criteria for a minimum of a $97,500 mortgage.

The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington awarded Accessible Dreams and Action Housing, Inc. a contract to identify a buyer and build the home. Quickly, the Liadis family came to the forefront as eligible and qualified buyers. They assisted in the ribbon cutting and are scheduled to close and move into their new home in mid July.

Accessible dreams become a reality.
