GUY CIARROCCHI NAMED HUD PHILADELPHIA REGIONAL DIRECTOR

PHILADELPHIA - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson today announced that Guy Ciarrocchi has been named the Philadelphia Regional Director for the HUD Region III Office.

In this position, Ciarrocchi will serve as HUD's liaison to mayors, city managers, elected representatives, state and local officials, congressional delegations, stakeholders and customers in Region III, which includes Delaware,
Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. He will oversee the delivery of HUD programs
and services to communities, and evaluate their efficiency and effectiveness. Ciarrocchi is one of ten regional directors in the U.S.

"Guy's leadership skills, his extensive experience with local and state government, and his dedication and
commitment to public service will be great assets to us at HUD. His knowledge of the region will be invaluable as he strives to increase homeownership, create more affordable housing opportunities and promote economic and community development. We are extremely pleased to have Guy join the team," said Secretary Jackson.

Prior to joining HUD, Ciarrocchi was the Regional Political Director for the Republican National Committee overseeing activities and campaigns in six states and the District of Columbia. During 2004, he was the Executive Director for Pennsylvania for the Bush-Cheney '04, Inc. overseeing the President's re-election campaign.

From 1996 until 2004, Ciarrocchi served as the Director of Public Affairs for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In that position, he was the primary government and community affairs advisor to the Cardinal-Archbishop of the Philadelphia Archdiocese, which serves nearly 1.5 million Catholics in Pennsylvania and its surrounding suburbs.

Before that, he served as the Chief of Staff and Counsel to then-State Senator (now Congresswoman) Melissa Hart. After graduating from Villanova Law School, Ciarrocchi was appointed as a Deputy Attorney General for Pennsylvania working in the Criminal Appeals section.

Ciarrocchi is active in numerous community and volunteer programs including coaching little league softball, baseball, and soccer.

Ciarrocchi is a native of Philadelphia. He and his wife, Christine, have three children and live in Paoli, Pa.
