Capacity Building Workshop in San Juan

The HUD team in San Juan hosted a workshop on Alternatives for the Administration of Community Development Block Grants

To help build grantees' capacity to face the current fiscal challenges in Puerto Rico, in August the HUD team in San Juan invited community leaders to participate in a one day workshop on Alternatives for the Administration of Community Development Block Grants.

Key topics addressed included strengthening the administrative structure, streamlining to avoid overlaps and duplication, and maximizing resources by building partnerships. A total of 15 mayors, one vice-mayor, and 83 municipal directors handling federal programs attended the workshop. A popular topic was Sustainable Operations Activities that generate program income.
