During a recent visit to Puerto Rico, HUD Secretary Ben Carson and Deputy Secretary Pam Patenaude met with local and deployed staff. They thanked them for working tiressly to help the island after Hurricanes Irma and María. "This is just the beginning, HUD will be here for the long haul helping communities through the island rebuild," Patenaude said.

During the visit, Carson and Patenaude joined the Secretary of US Department of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, in meetings with Governor Pedro Roselló and other local elected officials to see firsthand the recovery efforts.
