HUD TO HONOR SOUTH DAKOTA HOUSING PROJECT WITH PRESTIGIOUS "DOOR KNOCKER AWARD"

The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will honor 15 state and local programs with its prestigious "Door Knocker Award" for outstanding work in affordable housing on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. A South Dakota affordable housing development is among the award-winning projects to be honored during a ceremony near Washington, DC.

The award presentation coincides with the 20th anniversary of HUD's HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME)
Program
, the largest federal block grant program dedicated to producing affordable housing. Since 1992, the HOME Program produced more than one million units of affordable housing throughout the U.S.
