Nashville Office Promotes "Unity" During
Change-of-Union Officers Ceremony

On January 16, a "change of Union Officers" occurred in the Nashville Field Office, while Administration's Debora Harlin received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Field Office Director as Chairperson for Nashville's CFC campaign. (Nashville exceeded its goal.)

Regional AFGE Vice President, Videssa Woods, attended a Nashville local 3980 union meeting for departing President, Victoria Brown, during the change-of-officers ceremony.

After the swearing-in recitation by Ms. Woods, new President Hubert Collins and Officers were congratulated by FOD, Dr. Edward Pringle. The new Nashville Officers who pledged are as follows: Karen Haynes (Vice President), James Conley (Secretary-Treasurer), Beverly Bell (Sergeant-at-Arms).

Nashville's Staff applauded and congratulated the new Officers, while food awaited. "The cooperation between both union and management is strong in Nashville, and employees maintain an objective consensus of opinion on most issues," said Field Office Director, Dr. Edward L. Pringle. "We congratulate the new Officers, and want to recognize Ms. Victoria Brown, departing President, for her continuing efforts on behalf of Nashville employees."

A Certificate of Appreciation was given to Ms. Brown. "Thank you, thank you," she said. "Ms. Brown worked closely with our office and is a great advocate for our employees," said Pringle. "This office runs smoothly, and I appreciate the work all of you do."

After the swearing-in of the Officers by Ms. Woods, the members smiled and stood to recognize them. AFGE has represented the Nashville Office for many years. New President Hubert (Tyrone) Collins thanked Dr. Pringle and the membership for allowing him to represent them, and offered his assistance on any matter needing his involvement.

Later, Dr. Pringle awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Administration's Debora Harlin for her undivided work as Chairperson for the Combined Federal Campaign in this office. "We're proud to have you on our team in the Administration Office," said Pringle. "Numerous community organizations and civic groups will now have additional monies to help citizens become self sufficient." Nashville surpassed the goal by nearly $1,000 this year with employees pledging nearly $8,000.

The spirit of giving has always been a paramount goal not only in the Nashville Office, but also with the Tennessee citizenry here in the Volunteer State.
