HUD SPONSORS STATEWIDE ENERGY CONFERENCE IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
Energy Conservation Advocates from the Tennessee Valley Authority, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USDA Rural Development, Housing & Urban Development and Others Present Latest Energy Savings Initiatives
NASHVILLE - The second statewide Energy conference sponsored by HUD was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at
the Adventure Science Center in Nashville.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development offices in Tennessee: Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville,
and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development are partners in promoting energy conservation statewide. HUD encourages the use of Energy Star products in public and multifamily housing developments; as well as
promoting energy conservation throughout all of its other programs and partnerships. Presentations from private and non-profit agencies, local, state and federal agency officials were made which provided up-to-date information on energy conservation initiatives, Energy Star appliance usage, alternative and solar energy products, and other cost-cutting energy-savings and new construction practices.
