Diverse cultures from throughout the world celebrated Saturday, August 2, 2003 at one of Spokane's favorite family events - the 9th Annual Unity in the Community gathering at Liberty Park. This year's theme was "Leaving No One Behind". The daylong celebration featured live music, dancing, ethnic food stands, political candidates, and several interactive displays, along with more than 50 information booths.

Resource booths staff by HUD, Spokane Housing Authority, AHANA, Northwest Fair Housing Alliance, Spokane Neighborhood Housing Action Programs, Spokane Homeownership Resource Center, Spokane Home Builders Association, USDA-Rural Development, Social Security Administration and more provided an abundance of program information.

Bethel AME church and Richard Allen Enterprises, a faith-based non-profit, joined local businesses, universities, colleges, lenders, insurance agencies and the Spokesman Review in sponsoring this event. All enjoyed cultural food, music, entertainment, and games.
