Regional Director Joe P. Galvan and Wisconsin 6th District Congressman Tom Petri recently announced a $1,189,247 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to stimulate economic development and produce more affordable housing in the City of Sheboygan.  The City of Sheboygan’s use of CDBG has been nationally recognized and is a model for community development and strengthening neighborhoods.  At the CDBG 30th Anniversary Conference held in Washington, D.C., Sheboygan received one of HUD’s Community Development Excellence Awards for its Water Street Development Project.  The Water Street Project created 198 units of multi-family and elderly housing, 2 parks with public access and amenities, and will eventually contain 31 new market rate single-family townhouses and condominiums.
