Faith-based and Community Workshop held in Casper

The Casper field office held a faith-based and community workshop on November 13, 2003 in Casper, Wyoming. This workshop was Part II of a grant-funding workshop held earlier this year. The first workshop was on basic grant writing skills. The second workshop was held based on feedback from participants. Faith-based and community organizations requested time to meet and ask questions of funding organizations. The workshop began with a discussion of what is happening with the Faith-Based and Community Initiative in Wyoming. The Governor's liaison, Andy Aldrich, spoke about the future of this initiative in Wyoming and Bobby Loud, from the Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in Nebraska spoke about the work of his nonprofit and the initiative in Nebraska. The workshop continued with three panel discussions allowing participants to ask questions of private foundations, state agencies, and federal agencies. Over seventy participants from across Wyoming attended and learned about the Faith-Based and Community Initiative and possible funding sources. For more information about the Faith-Based and Community Initiative contact Chris Stearns of the Casper field office.
