Project description:
The funds will be used for the new construction of an independent living project containing 15 one-bedroom units and 5 two-bedroom units for very low income persons with mobility impairments, traumatic brain injuries, and severe physical disabilities. The site is located near medical facilities, shopping, churches, parks, banking, and community activities. The site is also across the street from a proposed major city park that will have paved trails for use by residents regardless of their mobility. Accessible Space, Inc. was encouraged to submit this application by a group made up of consumers, service providers, business/civic leaders, and concerned citizens in the Shoals area.
