Section 202 - Supportive Housing for the Elderly

Project description:

The funds will be used for the new construction of 41 housing units for elderly persons. This will be the first Section 202 project in Avondale, a former farming community 12 miles west of downtown Phoenix. The apartment complex will have a community room and coordinate the delivery of supportive services to the seniors. The Sponsor has developed over 500 moderate income housing units.

Project description:

The funds will be used for the new construction of 10 housing units for elderly persons in this rural community in the Verde Valley of Arizona. These 10 units will bring to 130 the total number of Section 202 units built in Cottonwood. In addition to providing housing, the Sponsor will assist the residents in obtaining supportive services.

Project description:

The funds will be used for the new construction of 62 housing units for elderly persons. The apartment complex will have a community room and the Sponsor will coordinate the delivery of supportive services to the senior residents. The units will be located in the historic part of Tucson and will match the century old buildings in the neighborhood.

Section 811 - Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities

Non-Profit Sponsor: Toby House, Inc.

Five-year rental subsidy: $276,000

Project description:

The funds will be used for the new construction of 22 housing units on three scattered sites for persons with chronic mental illness. These units will enable the residents to live independently in the community. The Sponsor has been providing housing for persons with chronic mental illness in Phoenix for 10 years.

The Sponsor has developed over 500 moderate income housing units over the past few years. The coordination of the services for the tenants and their families will be provided by "A Place Called Home", an organization that assists HIV infected persons.
