Project description:

The funds will be used to develop housing for the elderly which will consist of a three-story building with 65 one-bedroom units. This complex will include an office and lounge on the first floor. Amenities are in close proximity to the site.

This proposal will fulfill an unmet need in an inner-city minority neighborhood for housing for very low income persons. The project is located close to shopping, transportation, churches and medical care facilities.

This project is part of a two-phased development of 100 units of affordable housing for seniors as part of the Darst-Webbe HOPE VI revitalization plan for the City of St. Louis. The project is in an area listed as a high performer on HUD's list of High Performing EZs/ECs.

Section 811 - Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities

Project description:

Funds will be used for the new construction of seven three- and four-bedroom group homes serving a total of 22 persons with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or chronic mental illness. The group homes will be constructed on scattered sites in three communities. The development of these group homes will meet an identified need and standard set by the State of Missouri for small group homes of 3 to 4 persons with disabilities on scattered sites.

Project description:

The proposal is for development of two eight-plex buildings plus a community building designed to blend into the neighborhood and located near retail and commercial facilities.

The funds will be for the new construction of apartments for persons with chronic mental illness. The structure will contain a total of 19 one-bedroom units, which includes a unit for the resident manager. Tenants will be able to live independently with support services tailored to their needs. A community room will also be provided for recreational activities and it will enhance the development of social and independent living skills of the residents.

Project description:

The funds will be used to construct four group homes for persons with developmental disabilities. Three of the group homes will provide housing for 4 residents and one will be large enough for six residents; each group home will have a resident manager on the premises. The project will provide much needed accessible housing in Clay County, Missouri. This development proposed in traditional residential settings will enhance the opportunities of the residents to become better integrated into the community. Residents of the Sponsor's existing project participate in the community through day programs and it is anticipated that the residents of the proposed development will do the same.

Project description:

Funding will be used for the new construction of 8 accessible one- and two-bedroom units for persons with developmental disabilities who are capable of living independently. The project is designed to blend into the surrounding neighborhood and is located near retail and commercial facilities. The project is a top priority with Osage County which has passed a special tax revenue bill to provide supportive services to people needing such services.
