An allocation of funding has been approved for the rehabilitation of an existing nursing home into an independent living project for 85 elderly residents and a resident manager. Funds will also be provided annually for 5 years to subsidize the operating expenses of the project. This project which is being co-sponsored by Pindar Affordable Housing Development Corporation will have a community room, dining room, and several lounges. The City of Atlantic City is committing $5,000 to the project.

St. Mark's is the oldest African American Church in Montclair operating more than a dozen outreach programs. First United Methodist Church also serves Montclair, NJ with a variety of services that serve the general population.
