Project description:

The funds will be used for the purchase and minimal rehabilitation of an eight unit family dwelling built in 1990 for use by developmentally disabled individuals. The building will be converted to seven two-bedroom units and a community room which will include laundry facilities. The building is conveniently located along a bus line, near commercial services of all kinds in addition to two area shopping malls and two hospitals. There is an urgent need for this type of housing in the Milwaukee area as waiting lists continue to be long. This project will provide accessible and affordable housing in a strong community setting.

Project description:

The funds will be used for the construction of an independent living project consisting of seven one-bedroom units and five two-bedroom units. All units will be fully accessible. The units will have an open design to allow people who use wheelchairs to move freely in the building. There will be a community room and a common laundry area. There is a great need for this project since there are no subsidized units specifically for persons with physical disabilities in the Rhinelander area. They will have access to shopping facilities, places of worship and recreational activities.

Project description:

The funds will be used for the construction of an independent living project consisting of eight one-bedroom units. There will be two buildings that will contain four units per building. Four of the eight apartments will be physically accessible. One building will contain a community room and programming space. The tenants will have access to public transportation, shopping facilities and a public park. There are very few housing projects in the Waukesha area for persons with disabilities. This project will provide needed housing for persons who are chronically mentally ill, physically disabled and/or developmentally disabled.
