FY 1999 PHDEP Program Project Summary -- District of Columbia

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA HOUSING AUTHORITY -- $2,346,104

Public Housing Drug Elimination funds will be used to continue to reduce the use of drugs and drug related crime in and around the City's public housing developments. Crime reduction activities include the continued employment of DC Metropolitan Police Department Officers, DCHA Police Department sworn Community Police Officers and Special Police Officers, and public housing residents as Resident Monitors. These activities will serve all DC public housing residents. The prevention and intervention activities will focus on the developments in the Potomac Region and will involve community providers and Resident Councils.
