The activities supported by the PHDEP application (security personnel and installation of surveillance equipment) will provide additional security from drug-related crime for the 160 elderly residents living in the Capitol and Franklin Plaza public housing sites.

IHFA believes that the physical improvement activities that are proposed for the Idaho Falls scattered sites project and the Shoshone Apartments will enhance security and discourage drug-related criminal activity from occurring at IHFA's public housing projects. These physical improvement activities will increase the safety and security for the low income residents who live in public housing as well as their communities.
