FY 1999 PHDEP Program Project Summary -- New HampshireNASHUA HOUSING AUTHORITY --- $145,601 The Nashua Public Housing Drug Elimination Program empowers residents with the active support of both the public and private sectors to assist in the fight against drugs and drug-related crime. Our increased security component enables us to hire members of the Nashua Police Department to patrol every development each night of the year. Our education, intervention, and prevention programs are conducted through the local Boys and Girls Club, Nashua Youth Council, and Police Athletics League. Since the inception of the Nashua Housing Authority' PHDEP in 1987, this agency has raised over six million dollars from local, state, and federal resources (private and public). Funding will be used to incorporate programs and activities within the inner city of Nashua, specifically Bronstein Apartments and Ledge Street Homes. Additional public housing sites to be served will include Maynard Homes, Arel Manor, Sullivan Terrace North and South, Temple Street Manor, and numerous scattered sites.
