Shorebank Development Corporation is convinced that to truly revitalize the Austin neighborhood where Washington and LaVergne Courts are located means to "revitalize" the lives of the people who choose or are forced to live in low-income housing. The revitalization efforts include a holistic, 4 pronged approach to the variety of struggles our residents face.

  1. To reduce the incidence of drug related crime in and around the properties.
  2. To increase resident self-sufficiency as they are less attracted to distributing or using illegal drugs.
  3. Ensure that 80% of participating high school youth remain in school through graduation.
  4. To increase the sense of community and shared responsibility for a safe neighborhood.
