RECIPIENT: Little Earth of United Tribes Housing Corporation
PROJECT NAME: Little Earth Housing
PROJECT STREET: 2501 Cedar Avenue South
Minneapolis, MN 55404
GRANT AMOUNT: $125,000

SUMMARY: Little Earth of United Tribes Housing Corporation proposes a program of physical improvements to its housing and site to create defensible space and to enhance security for its residents. Our plan will build on previous efforts to increase defensible space, will involve residents in the planning process, and will leverage substantial funds from other sources. By creating defensible space we will be giving residents greater control and greater responsibility over their living areas and take back control over these areas from drug dealers, gang members and drug related activity. We hope to reduce short term and long term maintenance costs, reduce the need for on-site security staff, and to create greater stability, comfort, security, and a sense of community for our residents.
