1999 Multifamily Housing Drug Elimination GrantsCanton, OH 44707RECIPIENT: Kingston Properties, Ltd./Somerset IV Properties PROJECT NAME: Kingston Properties Ltd./Somerset IV Properties PROJECT STREET: 635 Alan Page Dr. S.E. GRANT AMOUNT: $200,000 SUMMARY: The project brings together the management, residents, police, neighboring owners and several prominent agencies to eliminate drug trafficking. Approval was obtained for the 19998 DEP to complete physical improvements to install perimeter fence and main gate to control access.
Cincinnati, OH 45229 SUMMARY: The plan to make St. Clair Manor and the Avondale Neighbhorhood drug-free includes coordinated effort between the residents, the city, the police and prosecutors, the community and the neighborhood businesses. The plan calls for physical security improvements to the buildings, a strong neighborhood initiative to provide drug education and prevention activities, and a program to help people find and keep jobs.
Cincinnati, OH 45210 SUMMARY: This proposal is for three properties; Spring Arms, Northern Liberties and Republic Apartments. There is a two phase approach to reduce/eliminate drug activities in and around the project buildings. Phase one include: physical improvements such as lighting, fencing, security, window guards, intercom system and surveillance cameras. Phase two include the continuation of the Neighborhood Network Center.
Cleveland, OH 44103 SUMMARY: The owners, management, & residents of Rainbow Group Apartments along with community partners including local law enforcement, local government, & community agencies join in effort to promote a drug-free & crime-free environment both at the property and in the surrounding neighborhood.
Cleveland, OH 44140 SUMMARY: Physical Improvements include installation of a 6' chain link fence, surveillance cameras & key card access to the property. Community services include; educational opportunities, short-term family counseling & life skills training. All programs will have common goal of fostering individual relationships wit friends, family and the community.
Columbus, OH 43223 SUMMARY: Continue successful programs of the STARS IV (Southpark Tenants and Area Residents For a Safe Neighborhood Program. Local Public Schools will provide ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. Classes will be conducted in Conflict Resolution. The neighborhood networks center will continue the successful job training and education programs to the residents. The owners have also partners with a local college, College State Community College, to provide computers classes, and other classes as needed by the residents.

HAMILTON, OH 45011 SUMMARY: The proposal include partnership with several organization in the community for preventive services for the residence of Neilan Park I and II. Physical Improvements include; a community shelter and security mailboxes.
Lima, OH 45801 SUMMARY: The Computer Learning Center will provide a variety of activities. Tri-Star Community Counseling will provide a prevention office that focuses on Drug and Alcohol Prevention. Allen county Teens Improving Our Neighborhoods (A.C.T.I.O.N) help with community gardens and Ottawa River cleanup. There will be a Family Enrichment Program such as "What Kids Need to Succeed, It Takes More than Love". The Center will be working with Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) and Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) programs.
