1999 New Approach Drug Elimination Grants

Antioch Joint Venture $249,960
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Antioch Joint Venture and Eden Green Apartments has been awarded $249,960.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the local police department to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in and around Eden Green neighborhood. The grant funds will be used to augment the police presence in the targeted neighborhood by implementing Crime Prevention Through Environment Design that will involve the residents in the community and build community partnerships to benefit the entire neighborhood.


Eastside Community Investments, Incorporated $250,000
Indianapolis, Indiana

Eastside Community Investments has been awarded $250,000.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the Indianapolis Police Department, Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation, Indianapolis Housing Agency, and Marion County Prosecutor's Office to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and drug-related crime. Grant funds will be used to reimburse local law enforcement above baseline services and to provide for physical improvements that will enhance security.
