1999 New Approach Drug Elimination Grants

Highland Park Apartments has been awarded $185,735.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the Topeka Police Department to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the neighborhood. The New Approach Anti-Drug Program funds will be used to hire additional security and utilize Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design concepts.


Chelsea Plaza Homes, Limited $217,448
Kansas City, Kansas

Chelsea Plaza Homes has been awarded $217,448.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the Unified Government, churches, and civic organizations to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in Chelsea Plaza Homes. The grant will consolidate involvement of residents and businesses, networking together to share knowledge and experience; establish a centralized community police work station that will house two off duty police officers; and make Capital improvements and upgrades to increase community pride.
