1999 New Approach Drug Elimination Grants

Whitney Young Associates has been awarded $168,300.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the Yonkers Police Department, Whitney Young Tenants Association, SHINDA Management Incorporated (the management company for Whitney Young), the Municipal Housing Authority, Westchester County Police Department, and the local US Drug Enforcement Agency task force to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the neighborhood. Program activities will include assigning a full-time narcotics detective to the neighborhood, installing cameras, and creating a crime analysis system for the Police Department.
