1999 New Approach Drug Elimination Grants

Colonial American Development Corporation $250,000
Zanesville, Ohio

The Colonial Development Housing Corporation has been awarded $250,000.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with local police and residents to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the neighborhood. Grant funds will be used to provide additional foot patrols and a security coordinator/investigator.


Greenfield Meadows Limited $250,000
Columbus, Ohio

The Southpark Apartments has been awarded $250,000.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the local police department to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the neighborhood. Funds will be used to hire police officers paid to patrol the area and take necessary action to reduce sales of illegal drugs and to reduce drug-related crime. The combination of increased police officer presence along with the installation of twenty-two security video cameras and ancillary monitoring equipment will greatly enhance the drug elimination efforts.


Hart Realty, Incorporated $206,000
Cincinnati, Ohio

Hart Realty has been awarded $206,000.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the Cincinnati Police Department to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the Avondale Neighborhood. The plan calls for a strong initiative to take back control of the neighborhood through an increased police presence.
