1999 New Approach Drug Elimination Grants

Franciscan Enterprise of Oregon has been awarded $250,000.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with Northeast Precinct Police, Multnomah County District Attorney's Office, Housing Authority of Portland, Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods, Franciscan Enterprise, Housing Our Families, and Sabin Community Development Corporation to provide a comprehensive, coordinated, neighborhood approach to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the neighborhoods of Boise, Eliot Humbolt, King, and Vernon.

Southfair Limited Partnership $184,800
Salem, Oregon

Southfair Limited Partnership has been awarded $184,800.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will partner with the Salem Police Department and Marion County District Attorney to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood plan to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in the Highland Neighborhood. The Family Stabilization Program will bring community services to housing sites while New Approach grant funding will be used to fund law enforcement investigative services and prosecution services above baseline and focus on the neighborhood. Housing sites include Southfair Apartments, Orchard Village, Highland Manor, and Parkway Village. Police interns from local colleges will offer support and liaison service to residents, law enforcement, and prosecutors.

Woodland Apartments Preservation, Incorporated $250,000
North Bend, Oregon

The Woodland Apartments Anti-Drug Program has been awarded $250,000.00 under the New Approach Anti-Drug Program and will create partnerships between the Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD), District Attorney's Office , South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT), and the Housing Authority to provide a comprehensive, coordinated neighborhood plan to eliminate drugs and other crime problems in and around Woodland Apartments.
