State Awards -- California

Fresno
Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Centra1 Valley, Inc. - selected to receive $150,000 to add three additional homeownership counselors so that needed education and outreach services on homeownership and fair housing matters will be provided to minority refugees.

Los Angeles
Fair Housing Institute - selected to receive $295,076 to bring the Latino population of Los Angeles County into the fair housing mainstream.

Mental Health Advocacy Services, Inc. - selected to receive $77,000 to provide education, outreach and coordination of fair housing advocacy efforts in Los Angeles County. The project materials will address fair housing and disability rights furthering fair housing enforcement.

Napa
Napa County Rental Information and Mediation, Inc. - selected to receive $84,861 to educate the target community (immigrant farm laborers), and conduct follow-up intake sessions. In addition, the grantee will hold bilingual conferences during Fair Housing Month, and distribute bilingual materials.

Sacramento
Legal Services of Northern California - selected to receive $131,613 to establish a fair housing information line and hire a full-time attorney and paralegal. Fair housing materials will be updated and the attorney will train various community groups in 23 counties.

San Bernardino
Neighborhood Housing Services of the Inland Empire, Inc. - selected to receive $100,000 to offer home buyers education classes and individualized counseling for first time home buyers. The program will be expanded to include fair housing training that teaches home buyers their rights.

San Rafael
Fair Housing of Marin - selected to receive $298,172 to conduct disability and immigrant activities leading to HUD enforcement proposals in Marin and Sonoma Counties.
