Bishop State Community College -- Grant Amount: $ 400,000
Bishop State Community College with it's HBCU grant will focus on revitalizing the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue community which has been selected by the city of Mobil as a target area to be redeveloped. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue Redevelopment Corporation will spearhead the planning and development of a supermarket. The college will initiate and coordinate job training and basic adult education for employment in the supermarket.
