Norfolk State University is pursuing a holistic approach to revitalization in the City of Norfolk. The target area is Central Brambleton. The University will use HBCU funds to expand existing projects, such as: the provision of decent and affordable housing; helping welfare families become self-sufficient; creating a small business incubator; enhancing literacy in the target area by developing the basic skills of low to moderate income persons; providing information on health issues; and educating residents regarding fair housing laws and regulations.
