Youthbuild 1999 Grants: Project SummariesColorado
Southern Ute Community Action Programs, Inc. Ignacio, CO will receive a Youthbuild Implementation Grant in the amount of $336,285. The 15 participants will be learning on-site construction skills by working to build 2 new homes with a total of 4 units. The program will provide a comprehensive and integrated effort to increase the academic, leadership, and vocational skill level of trainees. Cash and in-kind leveraging resources total $69,520 to support the program. Key participants include: Durango Public Schools, Ignacio Public Schools, San Juan Basin Technical School, Peaceful Spirit, Colorado Community College & Occupational Education System, Adult Education Center, Southwest Youth Corps, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka, Colorado Division of Housing, Southwest Community Resources, Durango Latino Education Coalition and Tribal Jobs Training Programs.
