Youthbuild 1999 Grants: Project Summaries

Missouri

The Housing Authority of St. Louis, St. Louis MO: The Housing Authority of St. Louis will receive $400,000 to implement a twelve month program for 15 Youthbuild participants. The St. Louis Department of Human Services and Altman-Charter Co. were co-applicants. The program will include ten months of multi-disciplinary education, including construction theory and basic construction competencies, and two months of follow-up. One new single family unit will be constructed. In-kind leveraging and financing funds for the project exceed $1.5 million. Partners include 39 public and private entities.
