Youthbuild 1999 Grants: Project SummariesOklahomaThe City of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City, OK, The City of Oklahoma City will be awarded $400,000 in Youthbuild funds to assist in the implementation of the YouthBuild Oklahoma City Program. 24 youth trainees will work with the City's Neighborhood Service Department to complete rehabilitation of two abandoned single family homes in the Enterprise Community Neighborhood. Nearly $2 million in public and private resources have been leveraged to support the project. Partners in the project include the Oklahoma City Enterprise Community Program, the Urban League, Metro Tech, Eagle Ridge Institute, Community Action Agency, Western Oklahoma Building and Construction Trades Council, State of Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs, and the City of Oklahoma City Office of Workforce Development.

Flemming Phone Number: (405) 297-2334 The Housing Authority of the City of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK: The Housing Authority of the City of Tulsa will receive a Youthbuild Implementation Grant in the amount of $650,000. The Tulsa Housing Authority received a 1998 Youthbuild Implementation Grant in the amount of $350,000to provide educational and employment training for 20 participants. The scope of the 1999 Youth Implementation Grant will extend the program 30 months and provide services for 40 additional participants. On-site training will be implemented on the rehabilitation of ten (10) single family homes owned by the Tulsa Housing Authority. Key participants include IndEx, Inc., and the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce.
